We do not know the author or the exact time when the prototype of the figure was sculpted. Stylistic features indicate the 19th century. Figur was inspired by a 16th-century sculpture of the Infant Jesus of Prague. This example was cast probably in the 1960s. Just like then, it is now reproduced and available in stores with devotional items.
Based of fragments of polychrome preserved on the back of the figure, a reconstruction of the painting layer was applied.
